Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, like his counterpart from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a frontline aspirant to the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has visited former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida in his Uphill residence, Minna, Niger State.

The meeting, which lasted approximately an hour, was rumored to be related to the former Vice President’s Presidential ambitions, at which he is currently conducting extensive discussions. After his meeting with IBB, Atiku paid a sympathy visit to the State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, telling journalists that he was at Government House to express his condolences to the Governor over the state’s ongoing insecurity, particularly in recent months.

“I merely came to pay a courtesy call to the Governor and to express my condolences to him and the people of Niger State on the ongoing banditry in the state.”

“I just spoke with the Governor about the state’s insecurity, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a really terrible and tragic scenario that is extremely regrettable,” Atiku remarked.

When questioned about his presidential ambitions, Atiku stated that he would make his intentions clear when the time comes.

“I’m only here for a short stay. I will inform you of my Presidential ambitions at the proper moment,” he stated.
