Anambra: Tanker explosion causes destruction of vehicles, buildings

Following a tanker explosion that shook the area on Friday, chaos reigned in Obodo Ukwu, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The force of the explosion, which happened at 9:00 a.m., was felt as buildings a few kilometers distant rocked to their foundations, according to sources.

Near a new generation bank and a relief market, the event occurred.

According to reports, the explosion sparked fear in the surrounding area owing to the fire that resulted from the occurrence.

A Liquefied Petroleum Gas truck burst at a fueling station on the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway a few weeks ago, setting vehicles and structures on fire.

The LPG tanker, which burst about 7:30 p.m., was said to have spread fire to two additional filling stations and a repair shop with automobiles in the region.

According to Martin Agbili, Director of the Anambra State Fire Service, the explosion sparked fear in the surrounding area owing to the fire produced by the occurrence.
