Atiku’s Presidential aspiration faith under the PDP

Atiku’s presidential aspiration may never see the daylight of his political aspiration. Lately, the politician and ex-Vice President of Nigeria has been under attack by groups and politicians who were his allies in the 2019 election.

Is there something he may be doing wrong, or is the PDP trying to field another candidate in the 2023 election?

Former Edo state Commissioner of Information, Prince Kassim Afegbua, took to an exception to disregard Atiku’s claim of getting PDP’s Presidential ticket if he so desires.

Afegbua noted that Atiku hasn’t actively participated in any by-elections of the Party since the 2019 election. He added that Atiku was a selfish Political jobber who is only concerned about his presidential aspiration.

He said that the Party is incapable of affording the mistake of 2019; when Atiku abandoned all his foot-soldiers and sought refuge in faraway Dubai after he lost the presidential election.

Afegbua added that Atiku got the 2019 ticket because the PDP agreed to zone the ticket to a northern candidate. He claimed the 2023 election would be zoned to the southern states as agreed. He expressed shock over Atiku, a known supporter of zoning now neglecting ticket zoning because it isn’t in his favour.

On February 28th, 2022, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s stance of winning the 2023 PDP presidential ticket as a nostalgic belief. The group added that Igbos will dump PDP in 2023 if Atiku wins the presidential ticket.

They went ahead to paint him as a desperate politician swimming against the political currents and tides of the moment.

Wike says Atiku will never win the PDP Presidential ticket

River State Governor Wike Nyesom had earlier rejected Atiku’s proposal of fielding him Wike as his running mate in the 2023 election on the premise that he, Atiku, has been taken PDP convention delegates for granted.

The Governor asserted while reacting to recent comments by Atiku that he will always clinch the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Wike says, “I did not expect him, frankly speaking, to say that he will always take the ticket of the Party. That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted.”

“People should watch; there will be a shock as far as the PDP convention is concerned. People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many people, and it is not good in politics.”

It may seem as though trouble is brewing in the PDP. Perhaps, we could all wait and see how this turns out in the coming months.
