Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, former Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Mr. Femi Bamisile and a former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr. Bamidele Faparusi, Mr. Kayode Ojo, Mr. Oluwatoyin Olusola, and Mr. Ademola Popoola are among those being screened.
The governorship election would be held on June 18, 2022, to elect a new governor when the incumbent, Kayode Fayemi, finishes his second term on October 15.
The governorship election date in Ekiti was adjusted when the court dispute between Segun Oni and Fayemi over the 2007 gubernatorial race was settled in favour of the latter.
However, it hasn’t been confirmed if any of the aspirants had been disqualified yet. We await more reports on the screening.
