Gov. Emmanuel visits Abeokuta to formally inform Obasanjo of his presidential ambition

The presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Abeokuta residence to inform him of his presidential ambition.

According to Mr. Bola Bolawole, spokesperson for his campaign organization, Gov. Emmanuel assured the elder statesman that he was ready to rescue and rebuild Nigeria.

He also added “having had significant commercial and public sector experience with amazing outcomes to show for it”.

Bola also asserted that the key difficulties confronting Nigeria can be resolved by focused, genuine, and capable leadership.

He also told Chief Obasanjo that, if given the opportunity, he would take tangible actions to stimulate the economy and restore Nigeria to its former glory days.

However, Chief Obasanjo responded by thanking the presidential contender for coming to tell him of his candidacy.

“Knowing you the way I do and the expertise that you possess, which you have expressed in your little speech, I have no doubt that if given the opportunity, you would fix the Nigerian economy,”

“Our nation is complex, yet it is not a difficult country to run. It necessitates the use of honesty, fairness, and justice”. Obasanjo stated.

“I know that you are a man of conscience who fears God and will apply these guiding principles in your leadership.

“You have also shown what you can do for Nigeria by what you have done in your state”.

“It is, therefore, logical that when the opportunity presents itself, you will bring what you have done in your state to bear on the larger community”.

“Your presidential bid is a fair and legitimate thing to ask for “, he also added.
