How to Get Rid of Dry Cough at Home in 3 Days or Less

Dry coughs are one of the most common symptoms of colds and flu. They can be very uncomfortable and annoying. Learn how to treat dry cough naturally using these tips! See how to get rid of dry cough with simply a few natural household ingredients. Honey and natural herbs are effective home treatments for dry coughs. Put them to good use, especially in dry seas and you’ll be able to breathe easier again.

What is Dry Cough?

A dry cough is a type of cough that doesn’t produce any phlegm or mucus. Allergens such as pollen, dust, or smoke particles are potential culprits, viruses, and bacteria found at the beginning of a cold can cause this too. Dry cough commonly appears in the early stages of a cold or flu, before your body begins to produce phlegm.

Coughing is the body’s normal response to obstructed breathing pathways. It is a defensive reaction that aids in the removal of foreign particles, fluids, or other irritants from the airways. Coughing causes the larynx to shut, respiratory muscles to contract, and air to be expelled from the lungs at a rate of about 300 miles per hour.

If you have a dry cough, before deciding on a home treatment, bear in mind that it is necessary to stay properly hydrated. Only use the following home treatments if you know you’re receiving enough fluids with vitamin C and still don’t feel better after a few days.

Use these tips in addition to hydration and vitamin C to give your immune system the greatest fighting chance this coming cold and flu season.

How to treat Dry Cough at Home

1. Honey

Honey has been proven in research to be one of the most effective home treatments for dry coughs. Honey’s antioxidative and antibacterial qualities are primarily responsible for this. Scientists believe that darker honey is more effective than pale honey.
