The Igbo, according to George Obiozor, president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, are ready for the presidency of Nigeria.

In a piece published last week headed “What did the PDP do to earn the support of Igbos?” Nwabufo said that the Igbo are unprepared for the presidency.

“We, the Igbo, cannot grieve our way to the presidency by sitting by the Rivers of Babylon.” “We can’t have something we aren’t ready for,” the author had stated.

“If Igbo political leaders had worked more in the last six years, creating coalitions and mobilizing consciences, the proper environment would have been established for the major political parties to zone the presidency to the south-east in 2023.”

However, in a Tuesday answer to Nwabufo, Obiozor stated that the Igbo were prepared for the job before President Muhammadu Buhari took office in 2015.

In 2023, the president-general stated that shifting the presidency to the south-east is critical.

“Let it be recognized and well understood that when President Buhari was elected in 2015, Ndigbo were better prepared than the North,” the former ambassador stated.
