The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, announced this during Stakeholders Forum on Expansion of Voter Access to Polling Units organized by the Commission in Awka. He emphasized that the forum became necessary in order to improve quality of electoral processes, adding that some existing Polling Units in the state make it difficult for people to exercise their democratic rights.
The forum was described as a way of deepening Democracy in the State and Nigeria at large. It had in attendance, representatives of Persons Living with Disabilities, members of the State Executive Council, members of the National and State Assemblies, Security agencies among others.
