Dr. Philip O. Ozuah, Chief Executive Officer of Montefiore Medicine, Montefiore Health System (MHS) and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, has donated $1 million to the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (CoMUI).
He made significant financial gain while serving as the keynote speaker and leading a fundraiser for the turning of the first sod for CoMUI’s new dormitory.
He was born in Anambra, and received his medical education at the University of Nigeria Teaching in Nsukka in 1985.

Ozuah made significant gifts on behalf of his family while keynoting and leading through zoom at. As a method of paying, it forward, he claimed that the CoMUI made him the person he is today.
Ozuah was reportedly one of New York’s top executives. He received $13 million in, according to a report in the New York Post. At addition, he got a $ 9 million payment in the beginning of 2018 while working for Montefiore, and his $2.8 million income was increased by $1.6 million, according to tax documents filed by the company.
Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka, a former vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan, commented on the substantial contribution made by Philip Ozuah on his Facebook page on Tuesday. He estimated that the hostel will cost roughly 2.5 billion naira.
Ozuah declared his gift, which was in the N200,000–N1,000,000 range, leaving everyone’s jaws open.
