Mr Peter Obi, a presidential aspirant for the PDP, stated that the proceeds from the sale of nomination forms for political parties were sufficient to satisfy some of the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
Obi stated this on Wednesday while replying to a question posed to him by a student during a Berekete Family show on an Abuja-based human rights radio and television station.
He felt it depressing that the clamour of 2023 was taking precedence over the predicament of Nigerian students.

“The money collected for the presidential forms from the two leading political parties is enough to meet some of the demands of ASUU,” he said.
“The genesis of the ASUU strike is in the inability of the government to keep agreements. This stems from the value we place on education which should be the biggest investment of the country.”
Obi stated that if elected President of Nigeria, he will work to make Nigeria a producing nation. He added that will ensure the country has a strong and viable economy.
