The wife of former Anambra State governor, Mrs Ebele Obiano has expressed interest to run for the Anambra North Senatorial position in the 2023 election.
This is coming hours after the former Chief of Staff, Mr Primus Odili, stated his intention to compete for the same position.
Mr Uloka Chuks, the Senior Special Adviser to Willie Obiano, said that Mrs Ebele Obiano was accompanied to the APGA’s National Secretariat in Abuja by party members. He noted that some transition committee members were among those who accompanied her to purchase her nomination form on Wednesday.
Ebele announced her decision to her party faithful in March at her home in Aguleri, Anambra.

She stated that the situation of the people, particularly women and children from her constituency’s rural towns, influenced her choice. She added that requests from individuals and organizations further motivated her to run for the Senatorial seat.
The former first lady insisted that her motivation is to serve humanity rather than to gain political power.
While responding to queries at the APGA National Secretariat, Mrs Obiano stated that she will continue her fight for a better life for women and children in Anambra North and Nigeria; adding that her major memorandum will be to push for Bills and discussion motions that will benefit women and children alike.
