Nigeria: Eriksen joins Super Eagles Midfielder

Christian Eriksen, who made headlines after suffering cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, is preparing to return to competitive football, this time with Brentford in the Premier League.

Eriksen signed a short-term deal with the Bees on Monday, and he’ll be reunited with Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka, who has been impressing with the EPL’s newcomers.

According to Brentford’s official letter, the Danish midfielder’s contract will expire at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.

While commenting on Eriksen’s acquisition, Brentford manager Thomas Frank expressed his delight at the prospect of working alongside his fellow countryman.

“I am excited to work with Christian [Eriksen] again, I haven’t tutored him in a long time, and a lot has transpired since then”. He remarked.

“Christian was 16 at the time and has since established himself as one of the top midfielders in the Premier League.” He’s also become a star for the Danish national team, winning titles all across Europe.

“We’ve seized a once-in-a-lifetime chance to bring a world-class player to Brentford.” He hasn’t trained with a team in seven months, but he has completed a significant amount of work on his own.

“He’s fit, but we’ll have to get him match-fit, I’m looking forward to watching him work with the players and staff to get back to his top level.” He affirmed.

Brentford, who are now 14th in the Premier League and have only one win in their previous five games, will be hoping that Eriksen’s arrival will help them improve their fortunes as they strive to maintain their Premier League status this season.
