The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced that its presidential candidate and former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has chosen Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for the 2023 general election.

On Thursday, the party made the announcement on its campaign organization’s official Twitter page, where it wrote: “Our Vice President, Pastor Isaac Idahosa, of Edo State.”

Bishop Isaac Idahosa of Edo State is the senior pastor of God’s first ministry, popularly known as the Assembly of Enlightenment, based at Lekki Light Center (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.

The cleric who is also a gospel singer, writer and motivational speaker is popular as “Prophet Talk Na Do” by his followers.

Kwankwaso’s choice comes after he failed to persuade Labor Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi as his running mate.

Obi’s refusal to be Kwankwaso’s running mate also ended the alliance talks of the two political parties as they had previously announced that they were in talks to reach an alliance before the 2023 elections.

Who is Bishop Idahosa

Benson Andrew Idahosa (11 September 1938 – 12 March 1998), was a Charismatic Pentecostal preacher.

He is also the founder of Church of God Mission International, Archbishop Benson Idahosa was popularly referred to as the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria.

Idahosa was the founder of Benson Idahosa University (BIU) in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

His only son, Bishop F.E.B. Idahosa, is now the president of BIU, founder and president of Big Ben’s Enfants Hospital, vice-president of All Nations for Christ Bible Institute International, among other positions.
