The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), according to Air Commodore G.I. Jibia, Commander of the 303 Medium Airlift Group of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), is a crucial component of the country’s security.
Jibia made the remarks during a visit to the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Ilorin on Tuesday.
He stated that the NSCDC has contributed to the country’s security well-being since its inception.
The Commander, who just began duties, indicated that the purpose of the visit was to seek NSCDC’s assistance, stating that no security organization can thrive if it operates in isolation.
“As the Chief of Defence Staff just indicated, the country is bleeding in terms of security, and we are in a very difficult situation.”
“We feel that all of the security services need to work together, and that through this joint effort, we can achieve results,” he added.
Jibia went on to say that the NSCDC has played a significant role in the country’s security throughout the years.
He stated that it had become critical for the corps to work together in order to achieve established goals and objectives.
The 303 Medium Airlift Group of the Nigerian Air Force was formed to meet the Nigerian Air Force’s medium airlifting requirements, according to the commander.
It would help the force fulfill its own security mandate across the country, he said.
