A beautiful occurrence as former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra, has released a video of himself in the heart of Lagos in Oshodi in the presence of the Chess organization’s organizers.
In a one-minute video posted on his Twitter account on Saturday, Evra was all smiles as he was greeted by supporters who constantly yelled “Evra Bus Stop!”
The fans emphasized the French star’s defensive talents, which made it impossible for strikers to get past him during his playing days.
Evra was amazed when he subsequently met the ‘street youngsters’ who were being taught chess and given a new lease on life through the Chess in the Slum program.
Before arriving in Oshodi on Saturday, Evra had hinted that he was making his first trip to Nigeria, where he was known as ‘Evra Bus Stop.’
Dancing to the song ‘Essence’ in a bathrobe and an old-school wig in an utterly funny video, the former Monaco defender stated Nigeria was his next bus stop.
Evra, who is now a football commentator, won the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United in 2008, however he has also lost UCL finals twice, first as a Monaco player in 2004 and once as a Manchester United player in 2011.
While playing for Manchester United in the English Premier League, he won the EPL on multiple occasions and represented France at the World Cup.
