PDP moves to replace Gov of Zamfara over Defection

The Suit for the adoption of final addresses of the PDP seeking to remove Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has been fixed for April 7 by a Federal court. 

The PDP is also seeking the impeachment of 37 members of the Senate, House of Representatives and state assembly, who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the application, the PDP asked the court to declare the impeached Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau as the duly elected governor of Zamfara State.

Following a motion for joinder and the attorneys’ statements in the cause, Justice Inyang Ekwo fixed the action for Thursday. 

The defendants’ attorneys, led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), also requested an extension of time to file their answers to the issue.
