sit-at-home order cancelled, go out to vote – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB has cancelled the one week sit home order slated to start today. IPOB media personnel Simeon Ekpa made this announcement yesterday the 4th of November.

Also, in a statement released by Secretary, Media and Publicity of the organization Comrade Emma Powerful, the latter said their decision followed the genuine intervention of elders, traditional Institutions and Rulers as well as Religious Leaders, and after due consideration has declared to cancel the sit-at-home which was supposed to commence today, November 5 to November 10, 2021.

The statement said they have equally considered several appeals by mothers who earn their living based on their daily economic activities which will obviously be affected if the southeast is locked down for one whole week.

The group also urged the people of Anambra State to go out En-masse and peacefully exercise their franchise tomorrow in the Governorship election by choosing a leader of their choice without being intimidated by anybody, group of persons or security agents.

The statement also enjoined Ndi Anambra to vote and standby to protect their votes as no rigging of any kind would be tolerated in the Anambra State governorship election, stressing that it must be transparent, free and fair to all.

It urged residents of the southeast to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any molestations warning anybody who tries to inflict pain on the people under the guise of enforcing the sit-at-home would face serious consequences for their evil actions.
