All Progressive Congress (APC) group cautions Governor Yahaya Bello to abandon plans to impose unpopular candidates on Kogi State voters.

This is because of the 2023 general election.

The group also warned that Governor Bello’s purported imposition of unpopular candidates might lead to the party losing all elected seats.

Shehu Mustapha, the group’s spokesperson said that Governor Bello’s recent decision to impose unpopular candidates on the people will fracture the party.

He also said that it impossible for the APC to win elections in 2023.

“I can authoritatively confirm that the Governor has already created a list of anointed candidates from the three senatorial districts,”

“He gathered the APC state executives to appoint the same candidates for various elective seats.”

“The State Party Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, should quit misleading the public by claiming that the party will not impose candidates”.

“We have a list of already-anointed candidates that we will make public as soon as possible.”

Mustapha also urged President Buhari and other APC national leaders to persuade Governor Bello.

“For the party to triumph in 2023, national leaders should persuade Governor Bello to enable the most popular candidates”

“This person will be chosen by the majority of party members and delegates, to emerge as flag-bearers,” he stated.
