Obi Cubana was born on April 12, 1975, in Oba, a town in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He was born into a large family and had a simple upbringing. His parents were both teachers, and they instilled in him the values of hard work, discipline, and education. Growing up, Obi Cubana attended various primary and secondary schools in Nigeria before obtaining a degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
After completing his education, Obi Cubana began his career in the hospitality industry, working in different hotels and restaurants across Nigeria. However, he soon realized that he wanted to be his own boss and started his first business venture, a fast-food restaurant called ‘Crunches Fried Chicken,’ in Abuja, Nigeria.
Although the restaurant was initially successful, Obi Cubana faced many challenges and setbacks, including competition from other fast-food restaurants and the high cost of running the business. However, he persevered and eventually expanded his business, opening more branches in different parts of Nigeria.
In 2006, Obi Cubana co-founded a hospitality and entertainment company called ‘Cubana Group’ with his friend, Paschal Okechukwu. The company started as a small bar and nightclub in Owerri, Imo State, but has since grown into a conglomerate of businesses, including hotels, restaurants, lounges, and nightclubs, spread across Nigeria and beyond.
The success of the Cubana Group has made Obi Cubana a billionaire, with an estimated net worth of over $500 million. He is now one of the most influential and successful businessmen in Nigeria, with a significant presence in the hospitality, entertainment, and real estate industries.
Obi Cubana’s rise to billionaire status has not been without controversy. Some people have questioned the source of his wealth and accused him of being involved in illegal activities. However, Obi Cubana has denied these allegations and insists that his wealth is the result of hard work and dedication.
He is also known for his philanthropic work, having helped many people in his hometown and across Nigeria. He has provided scholarships to students, donated to hospitals and orphanages, and supported various social causes.
