WCW: Stella Okoli, CEO, Emzor Pharmaceuticals

Dr. Stella Chinyelu Okoli is a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and industrialist.

She founded Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, a well-known pharmaceutical firm that has been producing pharmaceuticals for almost 30 years.

She is the fourth richest woman in Nigeria, with a net worth of more than $500 million.

Felix Ebelechukwu and Margaret Modebelu, both natives of Nnewi, Anambra State, raised him.

In 1971, she earned an M.Sc. in Biopharmaceutical from the University of London’s Chelsea College.

She worked for many pharmaceutical companies before founding Emzor Pharmaceutical.

After working in several pharmaceutical firms and gaining essential expertise, she established Emzor Chemists Limited as a modest retail shop in Shomolu, Lagos, which developed to become Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd in January 1977.

Since its inception, Emzor Pharmaceutical has evolved to become one of Nigeria’s major pharmaceutical firms, with over 50 products.

History of Emzor

Emzor Chemists Limited, the holding company of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, began retail operations in Yaba, Lagos, in January 1977.

Emzor Chemists Limited expanded into the import and wholesale of various pharmaceuticals due to the rapid growth of the retail business.

Emzor developed the desire to manufacture in Nigeria, develop local capability, create jobs, and provide high-quality pharmaceutical products and services to the Nigerian people at affordable and value-added prices as a result of natural growth.

In 1985, they began pilot production. In less than three years, they had established ourselves as a regional pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

One of the first feathers in our cap was Emzor Paracetamol, which is still a leading brand of analgesic not only in Nigeria but throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

What drug is emzor?

Emzor paracetamol tablets are used to treat mild to moderate pain caused by a headache, toothache, cold, flu, joint pain, or menstrual cramps.

This medication relieves pain by decreasing the activity of certain chemicals in the body. Emzor paracetamol can also be used to treat fever.
