Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has stated why Peter Obi does not have his backing, adding that the Labour Party and the Obedient movement are offshoots of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Soludo who recently dismissed Obi’s investments in Anambra State as next to nothing declared support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Justice Peter Umeadi.
Speaking via a statement through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, the former CBN Governor while explaining his choice noted that APGA remains the third largest political party in the country.
“APGA remains the third largest political party in Nigeria, considering the number of political offices it has won.
“They also has a State governor, members of the National Assembly, and members of the state assemblies.
“APGA does not consider the wave of the ‘Obedient Movement’ as a threat towards achieving its set goals in 2023.
“The LP and the ‘Obedient Movement’ are offshoots of the PDP. Therefore, they pose a big threat to PDP, not APGA”, he stated.
Recall that Professor Soludo denied the statement credited to him that he mocked the Labour Party, LP, and its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, describing the report as totally false and unfounded.
In the said report, Soludo was quoted as telling members of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in the state that those who left the party for Labour Party would labour in vain and that it was unthinkable for a party that does not have an elected councillor to believe it would win a presidential election.
