Agencies strive to guarantee fuel available at stations – FG

Nigerians have been told by the Federal Government that its agents are on the ground and visiting petrol stations to guarantee that fuel is available for purchase.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources announced this on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Speaking for the Ministry of Petroleum Resources; Chief Timipre Sylva’s Ministry’s Senior Adviser on Media & Communications asked Nigerians to be patient in their search for long-term answers to the Fuel scarcity situation. He emphasizes that the gasoline crisis is not a moment to assign blame or question anybody. He also stated that it was rather a time to band together to alleviate the misery of the common Nigerian.

“Nigerians have been dealing with gasoline scarcity because of the contaminated crude imported into the country.”

“This is sad and the FG sympathizes with those who are experiencing hardship as a result of the looming scarcity.”

“Let me appeal to Nigerians once more to be patient with the government as it seeks long-term solutions to the situation,” Sylva stated.

Dirty fuel: CSO asks NMDPRA, NNPC to resign within 7 days

Sylva praised the NNPC’s efforts to resolve the problem. He noted that the Petroleum Regulatory Authority has been visiting gasoline stations. Noting that this is to ensure that things return to normal as soon as possible.

“This is not the moment, as is traditional in Nigeria, to swap blames. It is not the time to question anyone, but rather to band together to help the average Nigerian”.

“After the storm passes, there will be ample time to examine and figure out what happened so that this does not happen again.”

“The President has issued an order to all agencies involved to work together to restore normality as soon as possible.”
