The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) state governorship aspirant, Lady Chidi Onyemelukwe, late vice-president Alex Ekwueme’s daughter stated that governorship position requires a selfless service occupant.
Lady Onyemelukwe during an interactive section with journalists in Awka, State capital, yesterday also advised the state electorate not to allow money to influence their choice during the election.
She warned that anyone who spent billions of naira to be elected as the state governor would be more interested in gaining the money back than providing the services the people expect.
Onyemelukwe also narrated her experiences when she lived in the State House, Lagos, when her father was vice president under the President Shehu Shagari administration showed her that “service to the people, accountability and simplicity of life” should be the hallmark of any political office holder.
