Buhari arrives Addis Ababa ahead of 35th African Union session

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, ahead of the 35th Ordinary Session of the African Union Heads of State and Government Assembly.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the president’s arrival in Ethiopian capital was caught in picture images provided late Thursday evening by one of the president’s personal photographers, Mr. Sunday Aghaeze.

The Ethiopian Minister of Education, Prof. Berhanu Nega, the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, and the Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq greeted the Nigerian leader at Addis Abeba International Airport.

Others at the airport were Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Victor Adeleke, Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, and Dr. Muhammed Abubakar, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to an earlier statement given by the president’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina, Buhari would join other African leaders in Addis Ababa to find answers to the continent’s political, economic, and social difficulties.

“Building Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthen Agriculture, Accelerate Human Capital, Social and Economic Development,” is the focus of the discussion.

Buhari will conduct bilateral discussions with certain leaders on the sidelines of the AU sessions, with a common goal in boosting economic connections, collaborating to address security concerns, and preserving links with international organizations for long-term development.
