FG to assist Nigerian Engineers in Infrastructure Development

Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu has stated that the federal government will collaborate closely with the Association of Consultant Engineers of Nigeria (ACEN) in the areas of infrastructure and development to facilitate the flow of goods and services throughout the country.

According to a statement released yesterday by the Ministry’s press and public relations section, Afonja Ajibola, Onu made the commitment during a courtesy visit to his office by ACEN members on Tuesday in Abuja.

One of the goals of executive order 05, according to the minister, is to ensure that all Nigerian professionals do not rely on expatriates but instead become expatriates themselves by leading other countries.

“I will re-secure Nigeria with contemporary technologies.”- Tambuwal

He further stated that the purpose of executive order 05 is to employ Nigerian professionals as expatriates in all infrastructure development projects in the nation.

Other nations relied on Nigeria when it gained independence, according to the minister. However, these nations have steadily abandoned Nigeria as a knowledge-based economy.

He said the ministry has been leading the charge to ensure that the economy is based on knowledge and innovation. He added that Nigerians are making progress and the economy is now diversified with the help of other ministries.

He promised the group, the government will assist them in demonstrating to the rest of the world that Nigeria is seeking to be number one and is ready to overcome other nations.
