INEC unveils 1,854,859 printed PVCs ready for collection

INEC has announced that 1,854,859 Permanent Voter’s Cards are now available for distribution to state offices.

The voter’s card will be ready for collection during the Easter weekend across the country.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on April 13, 2022, in Abuja, disclosed this while briefing the media.

He announced that the PVCs will be available for collection by individuals immediately after the Easter holidays.

He was insistent that no PVC would be obtain through proxy.

The INEC helmsman reiterated that the available cards only cover those who registered in the first and second quarters of the exercise.

He also assured that those who registered earlier in 2022 will have their PVCs ready before the 2023 general election.

Since the commencement of its Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) on June 28, 2021; millions of Nigerians have completed the processes physically and online ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

Mr Yakubu said a little above 55% of the participants of 2021, scaled through the commission’s data clean-up exercise.

He highlighted that repeated registrations and inadequate data as the causes of improper voter registrations, an ‘illegality’

he was pushed by several commission officials around the country.
