Ahmed Buhari backs Anyim to be next President

Former presidential contender Ahmed Buhari has endorsed Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the former Senate President, to replace President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

During a recent appearance on Arise Television, Buhari, who campaigned for president on the platform of the Sustainable National Party of Nigeria (SNPN), extended his support.

The lawmaker claimed that it is past time for the South East to produce the next President, emphasizing that it is only right that the area gets a taste of the job.

He also debunked accusations that the South-East lacks skilled hands to succeed Buhari in 2023, claiming that the region has highly qualified individuals who have expressed interest in the position.

2023: Okorocha publicly states his intends to run for president

Orji Kalu, Rochas Okorocha, Dave Umahi, Kingsley Mighalu, and Anyim Pius Anyim are among the South East hopefuls who have proclaimed their presidential ambitions, according to Buhari.

He did say, however, that former Senate President Anyim stands out among those who have expressed interest in the presidency from the South East.

Anyim’s performance as Senate President, according to Buhari, distinguishes him as someone who can be trusted with leadership and would deliver.

Anyim’s position as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, where he supervised rancour-free federal servants despite not being a career civil servant, was also mentioned by Buhari.

Anyim’s attitude toward restructuring, according to Buhari, portrays him as a leader who is willing to listen and guide everyone.

As a result, he asserted that Anyim’s previous duties at the national level identify him as the person with the most exposure and expertise to give Nigeria the leadership it requires.
