Anambra 2021: PDP Screening Committee Submits Report of Cleared Aspirants

The screening committee of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday submitted report of cleared primary election aspirants that will be held on June 6.

The committee was headed by the former Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Idris Wada.

The 16 cleared aspirants that paid and obtained the expression of interest and nomination form are Godwin Maduka, Uche Ekwunife, Ifedi Okwena, Tony Nwoye, Valentine Ozigbo, Ekwochi Genevieve, Godwin Ezeemo  and Emeka Etiaba.

Others include Obiora Okonkwo, Ugochukwu Uba, Chris Azugbogu, Mr. Winston Udeh, Chidi Onyemerukwe and Chuma Nzeribe .      

Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary of the party also confirmed that all the aspirants that purchased November 2021 governorship election forms were given clearance by the committee.

Meanwhile, National Executive Committee (NEC) also got reports on e-registration of members as the National Working Committee declared.

Ologbondiyan told journalists after the 91st NEC meeting.

The membership of the committee set up to conduct the e-registration exercise consisted of Obaseki, who would serve as its chairman and his Adamawa State counterpart, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, was appointed to serve as the deputy chairman, he stated.

The National Publicity Secretary explained that the statutory members of the committee are the National Organizing Secretary, National Treasurer, National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Secretary and the National Publicity Secretary.

He described that, nominations would be taken from the Board of Trustees, the National Assembly, Forum of State Chairmen as well as the youth and women demography of the party. NEC unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman, Mr. Uche Secondus, as well as the member of the National Working Committee (NWC), he added.
