The wife of late former senate president, Sen. Margery Okadigbo has strongly thrown her weight behind Sen. Andy Uba, top governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Party (APC) of the state in the November 6 governorship election.
Okadigbo, (Anambra North) member of the seventh senate, made this declaration during the inauguration of the aspirant’s campaign council on Tuesday.
Margery, the wife of late former senate president, Chief Chuba Okadigbo, gave her support at the inauguration of Sen. Andy Uba’s Campaign Council in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
She stated that among those contesting for the ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC), Uba is the most qualified aspirant and has the capacity to win the governorship election for the party because of his experience in public service.
Okadigbo stated that Uba’s candidacy would increase chances of APC victory on November 6, by 50 per cent, because of his goodwill and wide acceptability across the state.
The senator had addressed no fewer than 400 party representatives from the 15 electoral wards in Oyi LGA.
The campaign council is to mobilize supporters in the area and other parts of Anambra’s north senatorial district ahead of the APC primaries. She added.
“We the people of Oyi have come together to chart our political course by endorsing the aspiration of Uba.
“His support base here is massive, and I can testify that having worked in the senate, he has the capability to bring good governance.” Said Okadigbo.
