Gunmen kills three policemen in Ebonyi state

Gunmen are said to have slain three police officers assigned to the Ezillo Police Station in the Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state. 

The officers were allegedly assaulted at a check point in front of the Ezillo Police Station on Monday night. 

When the gunmen attacked the location and began fire on the cops, they were alleged to have set up a barricade in front of the station.  

The event was confirmed by reliable sources who requested anonymity, adding that the bodies of the three police officers had been placed at a morgue in Abakaliki. 

As of the time of publication, Loveth Odah, a spokesperson for the State Police Command, could not be reached for comment on the event.
