Headies set to Hold 2022 Award For The First Time Outside Nigeria

Nigeria’s most anticipated music award show, The Headies; is set to hold its 15th edition award ceremony outside Nigeria for the first time. The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 2, 2022. The event will take place in the COBB Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, USA. 

The award show’s creator, Ayo Animashaun, made the Headies Big Announcement event on HipTV. 

The Headies 15th edition will be hosted by actress Nancy Isime. The event would include performances by dancer, Kaffy and singer Goya Menor. 

The organizers announced that the Next Rated winner would be walking away with a brand new Bently SUV. The organizers also announced the introduction of new categories including talent managers and the Africa Award. The event would also create a grand showcase of African fashion, the Headies conference and a music festival. 

Previous categories of the award include;

  • Hip Hop World Revelation of the Year
  • Viewer’s Choice
  • Album of the Year
  • African Artiste Recognition
  • Special Recognition Award
  • Music Executive of the Year
  • Song of the Year
  • Rookie of the Year

  • Best Street Hop Artiste
  • Best Alternative Song
  • Lyricist on the Roll
  • Producer of the Year

  • Songwriter of the Year
  • Best Afrobeat/Pop Album
  • The Best Vocal Performance (Male) and Best Vocal Performance (Female)
  • Best Music Video
  • Best R&B Single.

  • Best African Collaboration

  • International Artiste of the year.
