Dr. Kola Balogun, a member of the National Assembly, has stated that it is the responsibility of all levels of government to safeguard the lives and property of all individuals in the country.

Balogun, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, made the revelation on Tuesday while addressing Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of the state.

For the past few years, Nigeria has been dealing with numerous incidences of kidnapping, terrorism, and the Boko Haram insurgency, according to our reporter.

However, Balogun, speaking at the end of a training organized for youths and women in the senatorial district in collaboration with the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), explained that the duty to protect Nigerians’ lives and property does not rest solely with the Federal Government.

The training was attended by dignitaries such as the Chairman of the State Water Corporation, Dr. Adebayo Adepoju; the mother of the state House of Assembly Speaker, Mrs. Tina Ogundoyin; and IAR&T Executive Director, Professor Veronica Obatolu, who was represented by Professor Bosede Lawal.

Balogun told the audience that it is the responsibility of all three levels of government, federal, state, and local, to guarantee security for all residents.

He stated that Nigeria has a wealth of people and natural resources, which would have made the nation a model for other countries.

“Securing Nigeria is the responsibility of all levels of government.” Any government that wants to thrive must prioritize security.

“When individuals are secure, they can conduct business without worry.”

“God has abundantly endowed Nigeria with natural resources. We also have the advantage of a large population”.

“Nigeria has relied on oil for many years and continues to do so.” Agriculture should be encouraged. This is why we are putting up this training and empowerment program.
