200 disabled persons to observe Anambra guber election

According to the Country Executive Director of Inclusive Friends Association, IFA, Grace Jerry, about two hundred persons with disabilities have been deployed as observers in the Anambra governorship election. 

While speaking at the Election Stakeholders Meeting at Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, Barrister Paul Ihekwoaba, Executive Director, Global Hope and Justice noted the need for special attention to members on that side of the challenge to enable them to discharge mandates and contribute to national development. 

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for doing so much to incorporate handicapped people in civic responsibilities. 

Responding to Barrister Paul, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba said Police and other security agencies have made watertight security arrangements, including patrol and standby operations, to ensure the success of the exercise. 

The IG also guaranteed that the security of every election participant is guaranteed.
