Anambra State’s monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) increased from N500 million to N2.4 billion in eight years, according to Afrinvest’s Group Managing Director, Ike Chioke.

Chioke, the Chairman of the Anambra State Investment Promotion & Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), addressed at a press conference in Lagos about his new book, Akpokuedike – Duty Call in Anambra, in which he recalls the accomplishments of state Governor Willie Obiano.

In mid-2019, Obiano established the ANSIPPA and named Chioke as its chairman. Due to extensive changes based on ANSIPPA and its industrialization goals, the state’s IGR increased.

Obiano was able to put in place not just physical but also institutional infrastructure as a result of the strategy.

“It goes without saying that you can’t manage a country without the right institutions in place. The governor’s first creation was the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency. A lot of investments came to the state via ANSIPPA in many industries; including agriculture, tourism and hospitality, and aviation, according to Chioke”.
