Buhari congratulates Queen Elizabeth II on platinum jubilee

On the occasion of the platinum jubilee on the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, expressed warm wishes and congratulations.

President Buhari sent a statement titled “President Buhari greets Queen Elizabeth II on the Platinum Jubilee,” signed by his senior special assistant for media and advertising, Garba Shehu.

“As the queen celebrates her 70th year on the throne and as head of the Commonwealth of Nations, of which Nigeria is a member, the president rejoices with Her Majesty,” reads part of the statement.

“Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to rule for seven decades, according to President Buhari.”

The president also noted in his statement to honor the special occasion when Queen Elizabeth II had achieved a number of milestones, including becoming the youngest ever seated on the throne, handling her duty with confidence and elegance, and now serving the longest.

However, He praised the queen as a devoted, patriotic and compassionate leader who served the people as a friend and compatriot rather than a ruler.

People never lose faith in Queen Elizabeth, according to Buhari. Their fervent opinion is that he has the ability to deliver at any time, especially in difficult circumstances.

It is also proof that Queen Elizabeth always acts and delivers in accordance with the expectations of the public.

“In her lonely road to the throne, and so soon after the death of her husband and main supporter, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, I and all our people wish her many more years as Queen of England and Head of the Commonwealth, in perfect health.”
