Jideofor Okoye assigns Ndi Anambra task of voter registration and collection

A former Majority Leader of Anambra state House of Assembly, Hon. Jideofor Okoye has called on Ndi Anambra East and West Federal Constituency living outside the constituency to transfer their voter cards and those in the constituency who lost their cards or have not registered to do so immediately to enable them to vote during the 2023 general elections.
Hon. Jideofor Okoye who made this appeal while speaking in Awka said that the majority of the people of the Federal Constituency registered and got their voter cards outside their areas, a situation he said is negatively affecting the voting strength of his people.
The former Lawmaker explained that voter cards remain the only instrument eligible voters will use to vote competent and capable persons into various positions of authority and called for all hands to be on deck to ensure that all eligible voters get their permanent voter cards.
Hon. Okoye who had represented Anambra West Constituency in the state House of Assembly, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all eligible voting Nigerians get their voter cards and appealed to election umpire to deploy more machines and manpower to the wards that deserve such, to ease the sufferings of Nigerians.
He further appealed to Nigerians, especially the youths to vote for competence and merit, instead of religious and tribal affiliations in the 2023 general elections to ensure that the entity called Nigeria does not sink.
The former lawmaker cautioned politicians who are vying for one political post or the other in the next year’s elections, to always play by the rules and regulations guiding elections to avoid hitting up the polity.
