SOLUDO ATTACK: Nine Suspects Arrested – Obiano

The state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, yesterday at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’ s Development Centre Awka, announced that nine suspects in the recent attack of Prof. Charles Soludo, former governor Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) and governorship aspirant All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) have been arrested.

Soludo was attacked last month by Unknown gunmen at Isuofia in Aguata local government area of the State during his meeting with the youths of his community.

The Unknown gunmen stormed the venue and shot in a sporadic manner into the air. In the exchange of gun shots, three policemen that were providing security for him were also attacked but the aspirant was safe.

Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne, Commissioner for Public Utilities and the aspirant’s in-law who was at the venue was abducted but later released.

“What happened last month is unfortunate, but let me tell you, we have re-strategised, and we are coming out like a smoking gun” Obiano said.

“We are not going to take prisoners. The nine people who attacked Prof Soludo are in our net now. We are going to eliminate them. We will go after the others.” “We are not going to take prisoners any longer. A special squad has already been put together, and they are already working everywhere in the state.” He added.
