Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has announced his intention to run for president in 2023. 

Oluyemi Oluleke Osinbajo is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and lecturer.

He is from Ogun State and Nigeria 14th Vice President since 2015.

Osibanjo made the announcement for 2023 presidential election interest on a live TV broadcast.

Osinbajo appealed for Nigerians’ support

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo emphasized the need of building on the successes of the Muhammadu Buhari government. 

“I have served as vice president under President Buhari, a servant of the nation in war and peace, and a man of integrity,” he stated.

“We have stayed committed to safeguarding the country, building infrastructure, and expanding the economy”. 

“During our seven-year term, I served the government in a variety of roles; represented our country in foreign engagements.” 

“I’ve visited almost every local government in Nigeria”.

“And listened to our people’s different experiences and longings; visited our valiant warriors in the northeast and our brothers and sisters in the IDP camps” 

“I have witnessed the misery and pain of victims of armed war, terrorist attacks, flooding, fire, and other natural catastrophes.” 

I have been at the homes of many ordinary Nigerians in various parts of the country". 

“Also spoken with small and large businesses”. 

“I’ve stood where you stand and sat where you sit; I know and appreciate the people’s ambitions, aspirations, and worries”

“I believe those hopes and aspirations are the seeds of the great Nigeria that we all seek.” 

“As a result, with the deepest humility, I publicly proclaim my desire to run for President of Nigeria on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.” 

Osinbajo appealed for Nigerians’ support at home and abroad as he embarked on the great path ahead. 

Osinbajo is a member of the All Progressives Congress and is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

He served as Attorney General of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
