Plans are underway by the Anambra State government to construct a rail line. The rail line will connect all the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State.

The Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike, said that the move under the Public-Private Partnership arrangement is part of the efforts of Soludo’s administration to create accessible transportation to the people.

Mrs. Igwebuike said that the present administration has a series of innovations that can change the landscape of Anambra State. She called on the people to see the development of Anambra State as a collective responsibility.

The Commissioner of Transport also announced measures put in place by the Soludo government to improve land and water transportation. She also cautioned Motorists against violating traffic rules and regulations.

Mrs. Igwebuke further advised Motorists to update their Driver’s license and other particulars so as to avoid the wrath of traffic officials.

Below are some of the reactions to the news on Soludo TV’s Facebook page by commentators,

Chibuzor Okafor wrote;

This is great and will be a fantastic legacy for Mr Governor. However, the govt needs to tackle insecurity 1st and return Anambra to the safest state in Nigeria as we were before. That is the number one priority. Prompt waste disposal and road rehabilitation should also be top priorities for the govt.

While Ndubuisi Anajemba wrote;

Instead of simply advising motorists to be disciplined on the road and ensure their drivers’ licenses are up to date, madam is here blowing her mouth.

Which of the national railway grids will the Anambra rail network be linked to?

Let this administration not degenerate into propaganda oo. Our hopes and expectations are still sky-high.
